So, my new friends have just broadened the scope of investigation.
Intrepid Crossing has accepted them in. So, I started a conversation with the diplomatic contact.
Zedrik Cayne > Good afternoon.
Z0batar > hi
Zedrik Cayne > I understand you've taken my wartargets in.
Z0batar > yes
Zedrik Cayne > On purpose, or was it simply a miscommunication?
Zedrik Cayne > If it was on purpose I will have to expand my investigation to encompass the leadership of....Intrepid Crossing is it?
Zedrik Cayne > You might have warned your membership before taking this step...I've already killed a pod.
Z0batar > their corp is joining our alliance
Z0batar > the war dec is had no part in the decision
Zedrik Cayne > It has as of, about a half hour ago.
Zedrik Cayne > So you're saying you just submitted your whole alliance, and whatever traders and industrialists you have in highsec, to war without warning?
Z0batar > we dont have people that are in empire and if they are we kill them
Zedrik Cayne > I've already found and killed one. And I've caught flashes of them in locals on my way to Jita.
Zedrik Cayne > You *may* want to warn them.
Z0batar > we dont really care, a 4 man empire corp does not really interest us
Zedrik Cayne > In that case, since you don't seem to care, I will bid you adieu.
Z0batar > o/
That's right folks....your leadership will kill you. Either that or the diplomatic corp really needs some help with internal diplomacy.

Well.
ReplyDeleteMore likely they really do not give a fuck. Even for a minor alliance like IRC wardecs by random empire pirates are just part of 0.0 life, as are the inevitable idiots who die in highsec. Fortunately these aren't generally part of an alliance's a-team.
Group I'm with had a run-in with IRC not horribly long ago - didn't quite generate a war, but a bit of combat on the side.
ReplyDeleteThey seemed to like the Amarr Prime - KA Prime - Kador corridor. Might be worth checking out.
Success to your investigation!
I'm guessing you haven't war dec'd any 0.0 alliances before? As stated by Parasoja, most nullsec alliances really don't pay much attention to empire war decs. Every 0.0 alliance I've been in goes through a new war dec like nearly every other week. So it's just another regular day for 0.0 folks. And especially against a small corp, they mostly just find it 'humorous' (for lack of better term) when you're used to dealing with the larger, more notorious alliances who regularly war dec nullsec corps, like The Orphanage or Privateers.
ReplyDeleteMe, I don't even look at the notifications in my evemail anymore. I just do very quick glances at the corporate war tab to see if there's any active before bouncing around high sec.
Ya Tbh I doubt they really care if you dec them. They most likly go through more stuff out there with the russians then youll ever really hope to achieve.
ReplyDeleteI mean, to be honest, your nothing to them.
ReplyDeleteI just ran upon this blog today and would like to salute Zed for standing up against bad corporate and alliance policies. I also appreciate your corrective measures, especially against Zenith Labs, whom I have fought against in the Providence conflict.
ReplyDeleteAs a member of a sov holding null-sec alliance I can confirm that war decs are just a fact of life. Most established nullsec dwellers will use out of alliance alts for Empire work so the impact on normal operations is minimal.
ReplyDeleteI feel these people are clearly missing the point and have no idea how far reaching an IEEE investigation goes. Suffice to say (as a part time Investigator myself) that the IEEE does not care if you do not care about the wardec as it is there to pressurise the target of the investigation, not to "threaten" a 0.0 "Alliance". I for one approve of this product or service, as anything that makes such busy important 0.0 magnates come down here to protest that they don't care is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThis one time, my alliance wardec'd WI. After the war ran out, they hired the Orphanage to counter-dec us. True story.
